Motor rebuilding for Ampex Tape Recorders

Reel Motors: $145 per motor plus the cost of new ball bearing assemblies (prices vary with type of motor; typically, add $25).  Service includes brake-drum cleaning and brake-band adjustment.  New turntable corks installed at no charge.  Add $25 to straighten bent shafts (motor will be returned at no cost other than return shipping if shaft cannot be straightened).

Capstan Motors: $120 per motor plus the cost of new ball bearing assemblies (prices vary with type of motor; typically, add $10 to $20).  Light abrasive frosting to worn/shiny capstan shaft, add $50. Flutter check $65 additional.

If inspection reveals other problems (such as worn sleeve bearing or worn capstan surface), additional charges to be quoted before work is completed. 

Full-Track Productions reserves the right to return badly-damaged motors without repair (at no cost to you other than return shipping).
